Higher Voltage – Tribute – to be released on 8/28/2020
Over 20 years ago, Alfredo Camargo and I were part of a band that wrote original music called Higher Voltage. Higher Voltage was a power-trio hard-rock band consisting of the Alfredo (drums), myself (guitar) and the late, great Chris Adams.
Through the various years that we were together, led by the younger Chris, who was the singer, bass player, lyricist and where most of the musical ideas blossomed from, we put together roughly a dozen original songs.
Although we went into the studio for various sessions at Blackstar Studios in Kendall, FL, we never formally released any of the music because tragically, Chris passed away in an automobile accident in October of 2000.
During this pandemic year of 2020, while spending our free time in quarantine, Alfredo and I decided to go through our archives of CDs and cassettes (yes, cassettes!). During this process we discovered that we were very proud of the compositions, the high quality of the musicianship and that the recordings captured a moment in time that represented our music well.
Although the music was recorded over 20 years ago and the production is at times raw and unfiltered, with the help of modern digital mastering technology, we are very happy to announce that in 20 days, August 28th, a Higher Voltage album named “Tribute” will finally be released in memory of the 20th anniversary of Chris’ passing. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity in Chris’ memory.
The album consists of 12 original songs plus 3 bonus remixes that include additional tracks added many years later.
